LG refrigerators and cooling loss

LG refrigerators use a linear compressor platform, and complete cooling loss with the unit still appearing to run is the classic presenting symptom. The diagnostic separates a sealed system fault from control, fan and thermistor faults before any conclusion is drawn, since the two produce similar symptoms and completely different repairs.

Direct Drive washers and error codes

LG's Direct Drive washers report faults through short letter codes. Drain codes point to the pump, filter and hose route. Fill codes point to the inlet valve and supply. Unbalance codes usually reflect load or levelling. Front load drum knock is checked at the bearing, spider and suspension, which is a repair worth assessing against machine age before committing.

Gas safety

Gas ranges, cooktops and gas dryers carry live gas supply lines, valves and igniters. Do not test, adjust or disconnect any gas component. If you smell gas, leave the area, do not operate switches, and contact your gas utility from outside the building. Gas work is carried out only by a qualified technician.
